FAQ For Parents

Parents usually want to know the same core things before applying: whether beginners can handle it, whether the age range is strict, what equipment is required, how the online format works, and whether the end result is actually meaningful. This page answers those questions directly.

Common fit questions

No prior coding experience is required. We are looking for curiosity, seriousness, and follow-through, not a long resume of prior coding classes.

The core audience is ages 13-17, but applications outside that range can still be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if the student is a strong fit.

The program is fully online, with live instruction on Zoom and between-session coordination on Discord.

Equipment, format, and outcome questions

A Mac is strongly recommended for every student. Parents also need to provide the AI subscription used during the program so the student can keep the workflow consistent.

The instructors are based in NYC, and if there is enough interest, we may organize an optional in-person meetup later on.

By the end, families should expect a real shipped artifact, a clearer sense of what the student can do, and a teenager who is much closer to being able to build independently.

Start with the application if your teen is ready to build, or use the contact page if you want to ask about fit, logistics, or the right track.
